Storytelling Wedding Films.
Congratulations on your wedding day!
Wedding films are such a powerful way to capture the beauty AND THE SOUNDS of your amazing day. Photographs are truly powerful and will look amazing on your wall and in an album, but a beautiful wedding film will transport you back to those people and emotions that were present on the day.
Why Wedding Films Are So Important. (Our story).
When Nicki and I were married in 2001, video was not like it is now.
Back then it was Handycams and video tape and very low resolution.
But what video did then and does now is also capture audio.
Specifically the voices of the most important people in your lives.
My groomsmen, John, and his wife Lisa brought a new video recorder with them to our wedding, along with their two little boys. Throughout the weekend, John and Lisa captured snippets of the wedding.
We watched it on our 20th anniversary and it was a revelation!
Nicki’s Dad Tony, who passed away in 2012, was on the video giving his speech. It was so nice to hear his voice! Matron of Honor Lisa was giving her speech as was the best man Don.
We also heard one of our beautiful wedding songs during the ceremony — I had forgotten the melody but was reminded of it because of the video.
That drove it home for me.
As powerful as wedding photos are, in some aspects wedding video or films might be even better at just holding onto those emotions and feelings. Hearing their voices and hearing their words was so wonderful. That’s when I knew that I had to really pursue this work.
Check out our work!
Morgan and Thomas were married in June 2022 at the lovely Harvest Moon Pond in Poynette, WI. Their wedding had a warm country feeling and even though the outdoor ceremony had to be moved inside, Morgan and Thomas did not let that dampen their joy.
In fact, after the ceremony, the weather broke allowing for some outdoor portraits and an incredible sunset to top it all off!
Ashley and Ryan were married on a chilly February day in Madison at The Concourse and despite the cold, had a wonderfully warm and lovely ceremony and celebration!
This video was a BTS for Madison, WI Event Planner HUE by Sarah Davidson and I followed Sarah through the day, recorded an extensive interview with her back in our studio and then edited and produced the video for her new website launch in early 2020.
This one minute silent “teaser” video from that event, is on Sarah’s website landing page and we are thrilled with how this turned out. I shot and edited this video from the footage captured behind the scenes on the wedding day.
